The People Bank is currently recruiting for the position of Bookkeeper. This position will appeal to those who enjoy working for a smaller company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day bookeeping. Location is Northwest end of Winnipeg.
Qualifications:
• Previous 2-5 yrs work experience in a bookkeeping role, working A/R, A/P, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month end etc
• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Post secondary education in an accredited accounting certificate program or combination of experience and accounting courses preferred
• Must be willing to submit to a criminal and credit check
• Comfortable learning new software
• Previous experience working with manual accounting would be an asset
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Great attitude, easy nature and a willingness to go past the job description at times
• Outgoing personality; someone not afraid to ask questions
Responsibilities:
• Manage all day to day bookkeeping functions, including calling overdue accounts
• Liaise with outside accounting firm as required
• Learn new software when it is launched in September
• Utilize Word, Excel and Outlook programs. Must have strong Excel skills
