The People Bank is currently recruiting a Programmer to join our client’s team on a temporary basis. In this role you will be working closely with the application’s team members and will be responsible for a variety or programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology.
• Refine data and format final product.
• Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes by amending flow charts, develop detailed programming logic, and coding changes.
• Test and develop programming modifications.
• Write new program code using prescribed specifications.
• Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part.
• Write and maintain programming documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
• Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
• Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and/or 4 to 5 years equivalent work experience.
• Extensive relational database experience with Microsoft SQL 2005 / 2008
• Solid programming experience with Crystal Reports 11
• Experience setting up, configuring and using SharePoint 2007 / 2010 and its features and / or web parts as well as experience with Microsoft SharePoint object model to configure, integrate or extend the platform.
• Familiarity with SharePoint Web Services.
• Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint Designer.
• Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices.
• Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.
• Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
• Highly self motivated and directed.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
