Description

Our Client is the largest specialty retailer of services and solutions for the lifetime needs of pets.  They have more than 1,145 pet stores in the United States and Canada and are currently looking for a Human Resources Manager to be based out of either Edmonton or Vancouver.


As Human Resource Manager you will be providing leadership and direction for the implementation and coordination of Human Resource and Heath and Safety policies and programs across the region.  You will be working with the District Manager to implement HR and Heath and Safety programs and programs and ensure a strong business partnership in resolving associate relations, staffing, compensation, safety and other ongoing HR management issues. You will be participating in CSG Human Resources initiatives as required and reporting directly to the Director of HR with a strong dotted line to the Senior Regional Loss Prevention Manager.


Accountabilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Associate Relations:

   .   Conducting HR Store Visits to verify compliance of HR standards, Employment and Heath & Safety standards in each district

   .   Providing trend analysis and broad solutions for Associate Relations trends and impending challenges

   .   Coaching performance management and improvement to the field management team 

   .   Etc…


Talent Management:

  .   Leads the succession planning and Individual Development Plan initiatives to ensure development of the high performing associates in the region

  .   Partners with the District Managers to ensure strategic talent movement are occurring

  .   Coaching associates about the career path tools that are available to them

  .   Interviewing Store Manager candidates for the region

  .   Etc…


Heath and Safety:

  .   Coordinating the implementation of Health and Safety programs for the Canadian stores

  .   Coordinating the training of First Aid and Heath and Safety Certification to ensure Health and Safety standards are being met

  .   Verifies Health and Safety standards are being adhered to during store visits

  .   Etc…


The successful candidate will have at least 5 years Human Resources experience, preferably with multi-site responsibility.  Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with associate populations comparable to the size, scope, and character of the posting region. Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S)  to the nature of Human Resource Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Other skills and abilities include:

  .   Travel required up to 80%

  .   Strong computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets

  .   Candidates must have a CHRP designation or be working towards obtaining their designation


Salary range between 70K – 80K per year depending on qualifications and experience.
