The position of Engineering Manager, Secondary Equipment will play a significant role in the continued development of world-class manufacturing facilities across the globe. Your duties will also involve:

· Develop and implement updated standards and specifications for secondary equipment and systems, including – but not limited to – CNC Machines, fixtures, dedicated machining/assembly, and robotic machining/assembly. For this purpose, develop and maintain Information Systems that help identify and minimize process variation.

· Support the equipment during the life of the program and champion floor level problem solving activities.

· Maintain a defined and developed supply base of equipment manufacturers that includes a global list of potential suppliers.

· Provide direction in distribution of quote packages, review of vendor quotes, vendor selection; and oversee purchasing and equipment builds to ensure that equipment is ready for production.

· Work closely with outside vendors, engineers, and production, to ensure the equipment performs the needed operations within the specifications. Be instrumental in Supplier Management and Auditing process.

· Provide preventative maintenance procedures and support for all equipment, while ensuring safe working environment is achieved and maintained.

· Work closely with local Health and Safety personnel to ensure human/equipment interface is sound, safe and ergonomically viable over the life of the equipment.

· Implement continuous improvement programs involving changes to equipment processes.

· Ensure cross-functional training is accomplished, including the training of the Manufacturing Technicians.

· Supervise staff, including hiring, training and performance management.



Candidate Requirements:



You will possess a University Degree with a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in developing solutions to program specifications and requirements in manufacturing. P.Eng status would be a distinct advantage. Whilst being involved at a strategic level, the requirement here is for someone to be very hands-on and at the same time maintain a very visible leadership style across the operation.
