Job Title Project Manager- Plant Start-Up

Description

 Allen Professional Search, London office, is currently recruiting for a Project Manager for Facilities Start up (Mechanical / Electrical) for a heavy manufacturer with plants worldwide. This is a permanent position in the range of $75-90k with benefits.



Position Description:



· Manage the overall responsibility for the facilities electrical and mechanical systems, including machine procurement, installations and retrofits, machine control, mechanical sub-systems, HVAC, gas, steam, power distribution, communications and data systems, etc.

· Prepare specifications and design for bid purposes, estimate labour and material requirements for Engineering / Construction projects.

· Coordinate the installation and modification of equipment; set design specifications, oversee contractors and inspections

· Work closely with the maintenance department to approve installations and changes and provide technical assistance; develop and modify plant layouts

· Integrate new equipment or move existing equipment into current infrastructure

· Address power quality utilization and in-house power monitoring; design mechanical sub-systems.

· Ensure compliance to all applicable codes and standards adheres to all internal safety policies and procedures.



Required Skills Experience & Education

· Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree; professional designation an asset

· Must have 5+ years experience in a heavy industrial plant start-up

· Expert level project management experience, with hands on direct experience planning, implementing and controlling projects and budgets, and working with contractors

· Experience with machine installations, electrical power distribution systems, water treatment, gas, steam, pre-start health and safety reviews

· Solid foundation in Lean Manufacturing + TPM



Ability to travel extensively is also required.
